Every tool in JourneyKin, explained
No feature left a mystery. Tap any tool below to see exactly what it does and how to use it — organized the way you'd actually look for them, not how they're built.
Your Daily Care
The things you'll open every single day.
Home DashboardEverything today, in one glance+
The screen you land on every time you open JourneyKin — today's tasks and medications, anything that needs attention, your streaks, and a quick mood check-in, all pulled into one calm view instead of hunting across separate screens.
- Open the app — Home is where you land.
- Tap any card (a task, a medication, an alert) to jump straight into it.
- Use "Today / This Week / Family" to change what the page focuses on.
Search & Ask AnythingThe search bar at the top of Home+
Search finds real things in your account instantly — a medication, a task, an appointment, a person, a document. If nothing matches, or your question sounds like a question ("when did I last see Dr. Patel?"), it hands off to your AI Care Companion for a real answer instead of a dead end.
- Tap "Ask or search anything…" on Home.
- Type a name, or ask a real question in your own words.
- Tap a result to go straight there, or read the AI's answer right in the same box.
MedicationsDoses, refills, and taken/missed history+
Every active medication, today's dose schedule, refill warnings before you run out, and a full history of what was taken, missed, refused, or delayed — plus an honest compliance percentage you can actually show a doctor.
- Open Medications from Home or the menu.
- Tap "Add Medication" and fill in dose, frequency, and pharmacy details.
- Each day, tap a dose to mark it taken, missed, or delayed.
- Check the History tab any time for the compliance trend.
Schedule, Tasks & CalendarEverything that has a date on it+
One shared calendar for tasks, appointments, and events — with recurring items, assigning something to a specific person, and a clear "did this actually happen" completion trail so nothing quietly falls through.
- Tap the "+" on Home or Calendar to add a task, event, or appointment.
- Set who it's assigned to and whether it repeats.
- Tap any calendar item to mark it done, reschedule, or cancel it.
Daily Log & WellnessVitals, mood, symptoms — the daily snapshot+
A quick daily check-in that captures how today actually went: vitals (blood pressure, weight, pain, sleep), mood, and any symptoms worth remembering — building a real record over time instead of relying on memory.
- Open Daily Care Log from the menu, or tap a vitals tile on Home.
- Log what applies today — you don't have to fill in everything every day.
- Look back anytime to see how things have trended.
Care RoutinesBathing, hygiene & personal-care tracking+
Simple recurring personal-care tasks — bath or shower, washing hair, trimming nails, changing bedding — each with its own cadence, so you always know what's actually due rather than guessing. A routine only ever shows as "due" once you've logged it the first time.
- Add "Care routines" to your board from Add or Manage Your Tools if it isn't already there.
- Tap a routine and mark it done whenever you complete it.
- The tool then tracks "next due" automatically based on that routine's cadence.
Build-Your-Own TrackerTrack literally anything+
For anything JourneyKin doesn't already track by name — a water tracker that counts cups, a daily-walk counter, a simple yes/no checklist for something specific to your situation.
- Go to Add or Manage Your Tools → "Create your own tool."
- Pick a type (a count, a scale, or a yes/no), name it, and choose an icon.
- It appears as a normal tool you can add to your board like any other.
Health Records & Planning
The bigger picture — plans, history, and hard conversations made easier.
Care Plan & GoalsWhere things are headed, not just today+
Set real goals with progress tracking, and see the current status, insights, and overall direction of care in one place — the "why," not just the daily to-do list.
- Open Care Plan from the menu.
- Tap "Set your first goal" to add something specific and dated.
- Check back to log progress and see supporters cheering it on.
Lab ResultsTest results over time — including a photo scan+
Track blood work and test results as they come in. Type them in by hand, or snap a photo of the paper results and let JourneyKin read the numbers for you — the original scan is kept safely in your Care Vault either way.
- Open Lab Results from My Health.
- Tap "Add" — type results in, or choose "Scan a result" to use your camera.
- Review the extracted numbers before saving; link the result to a specific visit if you'd like.
Medical TimelineDiagnoses, surgeries & procedures, by year+
A focused clinical history — diagnoses, surgeries, procedures, imaging, hospitalizations — grouped by year, built for the moment a new doctor asks "walk me through your history."
- Open Medical Timeline from My Health.
- Add an event with its date and type, or import one via Medical Record Import (below).
- Use the filter chips to jump to just diagnoses, procedures, or imaging.
Medical Record ImportBring in an existing record instead of retyping it+
Already have a health record from a hospital portal, a doctor's export, or just a photo of paperwork? Import it directly — JourneyKin reads it, sorts it into the right places (conditions, medications, allergies, providers, and more), and lets you review and edit every item before anything is saved.
- Open "Import a medical record" from My Health.
- Choose a photo, a file, or paste text.
- Review each suggested item — edit, skip, or approve — then save.
Emergency InfoOne tap, everything a first responder needs+
Allergies, medications, conditions, emergency contacts, and insurance info in one exportable card — download or print it as a PDF, copy it as plain text, or email it directly to up to three people (including someone outside your circle, like a new doctor's office).
- Open Emergency Info from My Health or the menu.
- Review the info for accuracy (it's pulled from what's already in your account).
- Tap Download/Print, Copy as Text, or Email This to share it.
Advance Care PlanningLiving will & letter of guidance questionnaires+
A calm, guided way to think through and record wishes for serious illness — 18 living-will questions and a personal letter of guidance, answered in your own words at your own pace, with a printable summary clearly labeled as a personal-reference document (not a substitute for an attorney).
- Open Advance Care Planning from Safety Profile or My Health.
- Work through either questionnaire — answer what you're ready to, skip the rest for now.
- Print the "Values & Wishes Summary" to bring to an attorney or share with family.
Comfort & CopingWhat actually helps during a hard procedure+
For a recurring hard moment — needle sticks, a specific treatment, anything with real anxiety attached — keep a running note of what to watch out for and what genuinely helps, so it isn't relearned from scratch every time.
- Open Comfort Guide from My Health.
- Add a context (e.g. "Blood draws") with what to avoid and what helps.
- Rate how helpful each comfort item actually is, so the best ones rise to the top.
Pain StrategyNon-medication pain management that's working+
Keep track of non-pharmaceutical approaches to pain — heat, positioning, distraction, anything — and which ones are actually making a difference.
- Open Pain Strategy from My Health.
- Add a strategy you're trying.
- Note whether it helped after using it, to build a real picture over time.
Care VaultEvery document, safely in one place+
Secure storage for insurance cards, legal documents, discharge papers, and anything else worth keeping. Pin the important ones (insurance is pinned automatically) so they sit at the top, and an "Emergency Binder" view surfaces exactly what you'd need in a hurry.
- Open Care Vault from the menu.
- Tap Upload, choose a category, and add the file or photo.
- Tap the star on any document to pin it to the top.
Doctor Visits
Walk into every appointment prepared, and never lose what was actually said.
Visit Prep & Visit CompanionBefore, during, and after every appointment+
The full loop for a doctor's visit: prepare questions ahead of time (and let family vote on what matters most), record the visit with the doctor's consent, get a plain-language summary of what was said with action items pulled out automatically, then ask follow-up questions about that exact visit any time afterward. Everything can be shared with chosen family members, and unanswered questions carry forward to the next appointment.
- Open Visit Companion, or "Prepare for this visit" on an upcoming appointment.
- Add your questions ahead of time; invite family to add their own.
- During the visit, start recording (with the doctor's OK) or use notes mode.
- Afterward, review the summary, share it, or ask the visit anything.
Past VisitsEvery appointment you've ever prepped for+
A browsable history of every past appointment — not just the most recent one — so you can look back at any visit's notes, transcript, or summary whenever you need to.
- Open "See past visits" from Visit Companion.
- Tap any past appointment to reopen its full record.
Doctor-Facing Visit SheetA one-page summary for the doctor themselves+
A printable or emailable sheet built specifically for a new doctor or specialist: dated diagnoses, full medication history, relevant recent labs, advance-directive status, and your care team's contact info — everything toggleable so you control exactly what's on it.
- From Visit Prep, tap "Doctor-Facing Summary."
- Choose which sections to include.
- Print it, or email it directly to up to three recipients.
Care ReportsWeekly and custom-range recaps+
A readable recap of a week (or any date range) — tasks completed, medication compliance, notable updates — exportable as a PDF for your own records or to share.
- Open Reports & Recaps from Home.
- Pick a date range.
- Download the PDF, or just read it in the app.
Family & Sharing
Bring the right people in, with exactly the right amount of access.
Care Circle & ContactsEveryone involved, in one directory+
A living directory of everyone in the picture — family members with real app access, plus contacts who don't need an account (doctors, a power of attorney, emergency contacts) with clear role flags.
- Open Care Circle from the menu.
- Tap "+" to add a contact, or "Invite" to bring in a real family member.
- Set their role and, for app users, their access level.
Invitations & Permission LevelsExactly who can see and do what+
Invite someone with a specific role — family manager, contributor, viewer, caregiver, care coordinator, provider, or emergency contact — so access always matches the real relationship, from full control down to view-only.
- From Care Circle, tap "Invite."
- Choose their role — the right permission level is set automatically.
- Send the invite by text, email, or a shareable link.
Journey Updates & Supporter FeedShare your story with people who care, without an account+
Post updates by category and control exactly who sees each one. Supporters get a private link — no account needed — to a read-only feed where they can cheer you on.
- Open "Send a Visit Update" or Journey from the menu.
- Write an update and choose who it's visible to.
- Share the supporter link with anyone you want following along.
MessagesA private chat just for your care circle+
A message thread for the people actually involved in care — for the coordination that doesn't need its own task or calendar entry.
- Open Messages from the menu.
- Start a thread with anyone in your Care Circle.
ReferralsBring a family member in for free+
Your own personal invite link — anyone who joins through it is credited to you, making it easy to grow your care circle.
- Find your referral link in Settings or a celebration share.
- Send it to the family member you want to bring in.
Memories, Guides & Your AI Companion
The parts of care that aren't just logistics.
Care Companion (AI)Ask it anything about your situation+
An AI guide that actually knows your care picture — medications, history, upcoming appointments — so questions get grounded, specific answers instead of generic advice. It also helps resolve real questions like "when did I last see Dr. Patel?" using your own visit history.
- Tap "Your Check-In" or "Care Companion" from Home's favorites.
- Ask anything in plain language.
Care Library37+ plain-language caregiving guides+
A searchable library of real, practical guides — from "what to do if someone falls" to talking with someone living with dementia — written in plain language, not medical jargon.
- Open Care Library from Favorites or the menu.
- Search or browse by category.
- Star any guide to find it again quickly.
Care GalleryPhotos, videos & voice moments+
A shared album for the moments worth keeping — photos, videos, and voice recordings the whole circle can see.
- Open Gallery from the bottom bar.
- Tap "+" to add a photo, video, or voice moment.
JournalYour own private, free-form entries+
A place for whatever doesn't fit anywhere else — private thoughts, a hard day, something you want to remember. Not shared unless you choose to.
- Open Journal from the menu.
- Write an entry whenever you'd like.
Health MilestonesCelebrate real progress+
Real wins get recognized — a streak, a goal reached, a hard week gotten through — instead of care feeling like an endless list with no progress markers.
- Milestones appear automatically as you use the app.
- Open Milestones from My Health to see the full history.
Shopping & Supplies
Never run out of what actually matters.
Shopping ListsShared, so anyone can grab what's needed+
A shared shopping list anyone in the circle can add to or check off — no more "did someone already buy that?"
- Open Shopping from the menu.
- Add items — assign one to a specific person if helpful.
- Check items off as they're bought.
Supply & Inventory TrackingKnow before you run out+
Track supply levels (incontinence supplies, wound care, anything recurring) with a low-stock threshold, so you're reordering ahead of time instead of in a panic.
- Open Supplies & Inventory from the menu.
- Add an item with its current quantity and a low-stock threshold.
- Adjust the count as you use it up; "Add to List" moves it to Shopping when it's low.
Supply RequestsAsk the circle for something specific+
Request something specific from the care circle — with priority and a clear status — instead of a message that gets lost in a thread.
- From Shopping, tap "Add Request."
- Set what's needed, for whom, and how urgent it is.
Build Your Own Board
JourneyKin adapts to how you actually work, not the other way around.
FavoritesYour own quick-access row on Home+
A short row of your most-used tools, right at the top of Home — pick exactly what belongs there.
- Tap "+" in the Favorites row on Home.
- Browse and tap a tool to see what it does, then add it.
- Tap "Edit" to remove or rearrange favorites anytime.
Your Tools BoardA dashboard shaped around your day+
Add, remove, and reorder the tools on your board so it matches your actual role — a hands-on caregiver's board looks different from a family member checking in from afar. Ready-made starting layouts exist for common situations (hands-on caregiver, tracking health closely, an aide covering a shift, remote family, and more), or start from scratch.
- Open your dashboard and tap "Customize."
- Reorder or remove what's already on your board.
- Optionally tap "Start from a layout" to replace it with a ready-made starting point.
- Tap "Add tools to this board" to browse everything else available.
Multiple BoardsA different view for a different purpose+
Keep more than one board — one for daily use, another for a specific situation — and switch between them instantly.
- From your dashboard, tap "+ Board" to create a new one.
- Switch between boards using the tabs at the top.
Large-Print Calm ViewA simple screen for the person receiving care+
A big, simple, uncluttered version of a board — built for handing the device directly to the person in care, not just for the caregiver managing it.
- Open dashboard Customize.
- Turn on "Large-print calm view" for that board.
Share or Import a BoardReuse a setup someone else already built+
Share your board setup with someone else facing a similar situation, or import a board someone shared with you, instead of building from zero.
- Open dashboard Customize.
- Tap "Share board" to get a code, or "Import a board" to use one you received.
Account & Support
The behind-the-scenes essentials.
SettingsNotifications, privacy, appearance & more+
Control notifications, privacy and sharing defaults, appearance, accessibility preferences, and more — organized by category so you're not hunting through one long list.
- Open Settings from the menu.
- Tap a category to expand it and change what you'd like.
Report a ProblemTell us directly when something's wrong+
Found a bug, or something that doesn't work the way it should? Report it right from inside the app — it goes straight to the team, no separate email needed.
- Open Settings → Support, or Menu → Report a Problem.
- Describe what happened — the more specific, the faster it gets fixed.
Running an agency or a care organization?
JourneyKin also has a full set of tools for care staff and agencies — client rosters with compliance tracking, shift scheduling and handoffs, medication administration records, and your own branded portal. See what's built for organizations →
